Carbon taxes would not be assessed to individuals. They would be assessed on polluters IF such taxes were approved byt the Legislative and Executive branch of government.
I would guess that with the minimal investment of putting storm windows on her house in winter she would save so much in energy that even after any carbon taxes she would be better off.
I think my landlord could probably shave off at least a third of his energy bill if he would put proper windows in my apartment with double glazing. Currently, if it’s windy I can feel the draft right through….and having lived in quite a lot of different places, his idea of insulation as irrelevant is quite common. Carbon taxes may make him think that improving insulation is a viable option.
you are not allowed to make people think about the reality of what obama says…like no more coal..which produces 50% of our power. or the 25% that is atomic..humm sounds like we will need lots more oil..and we are not going to drill..i better invest in oil..it’s going to get really expensive if obama gets in
Under Obama’s plan a lot of us will be living commune style with our familys. With Inheritance tax though she will have to live with her kids. They wont be able to afford the tax if she dies and With Capitol gains tax they wont be able to afford a bigger house. When you all live together your household could likely make $100 or even 200K so you will get taxed more.

Obama will make sure you don’t loose your home and can afford your heating and cooling. If you make a quarter a million dollars then you would have to pay a little more in taxes, but if you don’t make this much, you have no worry, just a better future to look forward to.
You really can’t believe you can continue to keep your thermostat on 72 degrees while others don’t have air conditioning do you?
If you can’t afford a new hybrid auto, do you think the EPA will have sympathy and let you drive your gas guzzler?
